Port Labs is ICA's new home, and we're just over the moon about it!

We’re thrilled to announce that ICA—the mission-driven accelerator and investment fund—has taken up residence in our brand new facility in Uptown Oakland.

We’re really excited to have great organizations like ICA in our space, and in the Port Labs community. They’re a giant in the Bay Area entrepreneurial ecosystem, and a great resource for growing companies. I know, because as an ICA alumni, I’ve experienced firsthand the power of their programs.
— Sal Bednarz, Managing Partner, Port Labs

We’ve been collaborating with ICA on business support programs over the past two years, referring great entrepreneurs to each other depending on their business stage and needs. When we opened our new space, we immediately invited them to become one of our first tenants. We’re committed to being a supportive space for the growing ICA team, along with its accelerator activities, and other events.

Based in Oakland for over 30 years, ICA has expanded their team and programs dramatically this year. They recently made the decision to bring their staff back into the office starting in September. Their new offices at Port Labs enable them to manage this transition and create a great office environment for their team.

ICA joins our community of companies working on clean tech, consumer products, advanced sensors, and much more. In addition to the dozens of members in our physical facility, sponsored support programs enable us to reach and help emerging and growing companies across the 36 counties of Northern California. ICA's commitment to local and diverse entrepreneurship dovetails with the work Port Labs is doing across the region.

Our new location at 2044 Franklin Street in Oakland is a 22,000 square foot building that has sat largely vacant for several years. The property is slated for mixed use development, but that project has been put on hold due to current commercial real estate conditions in the city. This gave us a unique opportunity to expand its footprint to serve more members, and make productive use of a beautiful old Oakland building.

Port Labs is the perfect home for this next stage of growth at ICA. With this space we have the infrastructure to collaborate in-person and serve more entrepreneurs better. We’re thrilled to grow our partnership with the Port and support our diverse ecosystem of great Bay Area businesses.
— Dianna Tremblay, Chief Programs Officer, ICA

We continue to manage our space in the Kaiser Mall building, directly across the street from this new building. That space holds our rapid prototyping shop, with tools and equipment available for members developing and producing prototypes and products.

Port Labs and ICA are working together to knit together partnerships across the region to support the emergence and growth of great companies.

Our beautiful space, ready for more great companies and innovation ecosystem partners!
